The Nepean Ringette Association takes the safety of its players very seriously. Anyone applicable must have a valid Level 3 - Vulnerability Sector Check (VSC) and/or Enhanced PRC. It can be no older than 3 years from October 31st of the current season.
This applies to:
Those under the age of 18 (as of October 31st of the current season) in any of the above positions do not require a Vulnerability Sector Check.
Beginning in 2020, Nepean Ringette will use the services of Sterling BackCheck (myBackCheck.com) for screening.
The Nepean Ringette Association will not accept any of the following in lieu of a VSC:
Who are vulnerable persons?
Vulnerable persons or individuals refers to a class of persons who, because of their age, a disability or other circumstances, whether temporary or permanent are in a position of dependence on others or are otherwise at a greater risk than the general population of being harmed by persons in a position of authority or trust relative to them (e.g. children, disabled or elderly)
How to Apply
The Vulnerability Sector Check can be completed through Sterling BackCheck.
The cost associated for the records check will be reimbursed through team fees after volunteers are confirmed in a role.

Deadline
The deadline for submitting a valid VSC is October 31st of the current season. Those failing to do so, will be asked to step back from their duties until it can be completed.
