Provincial Tryouts

The Eastern Region Ringette Association (ERRA) and Nepean Ringette Association (U14/U16) tryout links are now open!

U14/U16 age players need to register at both the ERRA links and with Nepean Ringette Association.

ERRA Intent Form - ERRA requires all players intending to try out for any U14/U16 AA or A level for any association within the Eastern Region to complete their internal registration form at this time.

The 2025-2026 season U14 and U16 competitive tryouts will be held from April 22nd to April 26th (Nepean Sportsplex Arena 2) for AA teams and from April 28th to May 4th (Minto Recreation Complex) for A teams. Optional conditioning sessions are being held on April 15th and 17th for AA/A (Nepean Sportsplex Arena 2).

Schedule

Please note players will be assigned to specific time frames during the ice times provided. Once registration is complete more details will follow.

The optional conditioning sessions will include a skills evaluation to help place players into balanced groups for the first evaluated try-out session. Please note that the skills evaluation will not impact scores used to make cuts or decisions on team formation. Players who do not attend the skills evaluation will be placed into a tryout grouping based on an assumption of skill level from previous playing experience.

Equipment Requirements for Tryouts

During tryouts, no unique identifiers are allowed on any equipment.

  • No name bars on jerseys.
  • No specialty team pants (e.g., team Ontario pants) are to be worn. Only association pants or neutral pants are permitted.
  • All identifying stickers (e.g., Team Ontario stickers) on helmets should be removed or covered with tape matching the color of the helmet.
  • NRA tryout jerseys are mandatory and must be worn during all tryout sessions. If you require a set of tryout jerseys, they can be purchased for $50 during registration.

Any player with unique identifiers on their equipment will be asked to leave the ice and will not be evaluated until the identifying marks are removed. This is to ensure fairness and prevent any bias during the evaluation process.

Tryout Releases

The first release could take place after Tryout #1. There will be additional releases after all following tryout sessions. Emails will be sent to all players to confirm if they are proceeding or released.

Attendance Requirements

Other than the conditioning session, players are required to attend each tryout session and check in a minimum of 45 mins before start time. If a player is unable to attend a tryout session due to illness or cannot check in 45 mins in advance, they must notify the competitive director as soon as possible.

NRA Competitive Contract

When registering for NRA U14/U16 tryouts, prior to paying, the competitive commitment contract is to be read and signed.

NRA Tryout & Jersey Fees

Tryout fees are $100. If you require a set of NRA tryout jerseys, they can be purchased for $50 during registration. The NRA jerseys are mandatory for tryouts.

Tryout fees must be paid in advance of the first session.

If paying your fees using e-transfer, please include the player’s name and level in the comments.
